To begin with, I drew out my images using a dip and ink pen and scanned them into the computer. I added colour using a variety of brushes and tools to create interesting textures.
My final three illustrations
I am pleased with the way that my illustrations have turned out the way that I visualised them to look, although they are not as professional looking as I'd hoped due to my lack of experience in photoshop, and I'm disappointed that they have come out quite pixelated too.
Peer Review
So the feedback sang back to me what I expected. PIXELS! I've learned that I need to increase the DPI on photoshop to prevent my work from looking pixelated. Also, I've come to realise that the portrait image maybe was a little obvious much to my disagreement. It was my favourite portrait image from my roughs, and I went against what my peers said in the previous review as they chose the rough of the fridge. However on the positive side, I'm pleased that today my peers picked up on some positives as well as negatives, such as a good colour scheme, clear concept and composition.
Conclusion
To conclude, I need to enhance and practise my photoshop ability. This will take time to perfect, but making extra checks for example increasing the dots per inch will improve the professional quality of my images. Also, I could take advantage of the college's resources by practising using a wacom tablet, to gain a better quality of line and to show my drawing ability in a better light.
Another thing I could improve on is having higher trust in my peers views, instead of falling back on my own comforts, resulting in not pushing myself far enough and achieving the best of my potential.
