Persons of Note - Post Easter Feedback

Group Feedback

My progress so far

My Intent

  • I want to get across a powerful message of how Amy Johnson's attitude exploited society in the 1930's
  • The Exploration wasn't a negative thing, it was liberating. How she followed her dreams and died doing what she loved
  • Women in the 1930's were undervalued in terms of careers, education was extremely sexist and once married, women were expected to be housewives, restricting their quality of life
  • Amy Johnson went completely against that. I admire her courageous attitude and strive for adventure. I want to get this across in my work
Problems
  • I haven't allowed myself enough time to media test, explore and develop my drawings
  • Due to time running out, my final pieces may appear rushed
  • I have just (in some instances) gone on my initial idea without exploring other options
Feedback
  • Focus on getting pieces done, rather than media test, COLOUR TEST
  • As well as focusing on hands as symbolism, look at colour as symbolism too- bravery and resilience
  • Breadth not depth!
  • Look at vector portrait artists
  • Look at 1930's maps
