Visual Journal Progress

From the last group crit, I was advised to take things back to basics and draw things that aren't too complex and intense, relating to Oliver Sacks.

I started by drawing simple fineliner outlines of scientific equipment. These came in handy as I went on to use some of them as stencils within my print workshop.

I painted these old apothecary jars from reference from visiting the Thackeray Medical Museum. This is my most successful outcome of the week, and I will consider using watercolour more often within my practice.

Focusing more on Sacks' medical notes, I began drawing some hats (to relate to 'The man who mistook his wife for a hat', although I don't think these images were as successful as they could have been because I used pro markers and I am not so confident with them.

Beginning to look at basic sequential imagery, when thinking about potential animation concepts, again using pro markers so the quality isn't the greatest.

Within the next week I shall continue to work on experimental drawings, and push my animation concepts more.
